We offer a unique "high end" hunt for javelina on the Rosillos Mountain Ranch in Brewster County, TX. This is not the average run of the mill javelina hunt but the chance to hunt some of the most majestic country in the state. The Rosillos Mountain Ranch is a 26,000 acre privately owned ranch located within the boundaries of Big Bend National Park. The ranch is bordered on three sides by the park and is accessed by traveling 13 miles into the park to the ranch entrance. It is very remote desert-mountain country with few roads. The nearest town is Marathon which is approximately 55 miles from the ranch. Limited supplies and gasoline are available at the park headquarters area approximately 13 miles from the ranch. There are 21 natural springs and numerous windmills on the ranch that provide ample water for the abundant game. This ranch abounds with mule deer, javelina, and coyotes. There is also a sizable population of mountain lion on the place and black bear and pronghorn antelope are occasionally sighted. There are no permits available for the pronghorn, no open season for bear so these species are not available to hunt on this ranch. You are encouraged to shoot coyotes and mountain lions if you have the opportunity. Much of the ranch is very rugged mountain terrain with few roads so ATV’s, 4WD vehicles, or horses are recommended. However, caution should be used to prevent accidents or damage to the land. Use of vehicles is limited to existing roads. Hunts are limited to 4 hunters and 1 guide is provided for each 2 hunters. The hunt is a 3 day hunt and the cost is $2500 per person. This place is just so hard to describe with words and pictures, but the best word I can think of is AWESOME. There are plenty of javelina on the ranch and it is just a great place to hunt. Bookings are limited to 5 hunts per season so call soon to reserve your hunt dates.
